The first priority of federal health officials is to protect Americans from Ebola, but “an outbreak anywhere is potentially a threat everywhere,” the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Sunday.
CDC director Thomas Frieden also said that health officials are looking for one unidentified person who may have had contact with Dallas patient Thomas Eric Duncan. He did not say how the two may have been connected.
“We are working to locate the individual and get him to a comfortable, compassionate place where we can monitor him and care for his every need,” Frieden said at Sunday’s daily update. “This person has not committed a crime. We are doing this as a precautionary measure.” [Read more]
